Orange Sky Australia is committed to providing access to clean clothes, warm showers and genuine, non-judgemental conversation for all Australians. In remote communities, access to laundry services can be limited and cost prohibitive.
Bulla is a small town in the Northern Territory approximately 370km west of Katherine and roughly 100-150km east of the Western Australian border. Orange Sky’s Bulla service works alongside the community to build impact through free laundry facilities, local employment and local partnerships.
Under our collaborative partnership model, Orange Sky’s Bulla service is made possible by our community partner Katherine West Health Board. We are grateful to the Traditional Custodians – the Ngaliwurru and Nungali people – our community partner, and Bulla residents for allowing Orange Sky to provide the community with a safe and respectful place for laundry and connection.
Our laundry pods are static, standalone structures that remain at a location for an extended period. Each pod is equipped with two washing machines, two dryers and six orange chairs.
