Orange Sky Australia is committed to providing access to clean clothes, warm showers and genuine, non-judgemental conversation for all Australians. In remote communities, access to laundry services can be limited and cost prohibitive.
Doomadgee is located in far North Queensland, situated about 140 kilometres from the Northern Territory border. Orange Sky’s Doomadgee service works alongside the community to build impact through free laundry, local employment and local partnerships.
Under our collaborative partnership model, Orange Sky’s Doomadgee service is made possible by our community partners Doomadgee Aboriginal Shire Council, and North West Hospital and Health Service. We are grateful to the Traditional Custodians – Gangalidda, Waanyi, Garrawa and Yunjulla people – our community partners, and Doomadgee residents for allowing Orange Sky to provide the community with a safe and respectful place for laundry and connection.
Our Remote Vehicle 3.0 (RV3.0) brings essential laundry services to remote Australian communities. Designed for rugged conditions, it features three washers and Waru Dryers and uses advanced solar technology to cut electrical use by up to 80%, enhancing service reach effectively.
