Orange Sky Australia is committed to providing access to clean clothes, warm showers and genuine, non-judgemental conversation for all Australians. In remote communities, access to laundry services can be limited and cost prohibitive.
Mornington Island, also known as Kunhanhaa or sometimes referred to as Gununa or Goonana by the Lardil people, is an island in the Gulf of Carpentaria in Far North Queensland. Orange Sky’s Mornington Island service works alongside the community to build impact through free laundry facilities, local employment and local partnerships.
Under our collaborative partnership model, Orange Sky’s Mornington Island service is made possible by our community partner, Mornington Shire Council.
We are grateful to the Traditional Custodians – Lardil people –, Mornington Shire Council, and Mornington Island residents for allowing Orange Sky to provide the community with a safe and respectful place for laundry and connection.
The Orange Sky Remote Laundry Trailer features three 10kg washers and three 10kg Waru dryers, bringing essential laundry services to remote Australian communities. Suitable for mid sized communities, the Remote Trailer is equipped with similar resource-efficient features as our Remote Laundry Vehicles like Rosco.
