Orange Sky’s Newcastle service supports people across the community experiencing homelessness and hardship through access to clean laundry and genuine, non-judgemental conversation.
Under our collaborative partnership model, Orange Sky always operates alongside other service providers, including food vans or community centres, to provide support to those doing it tough. We know that by working together as a community we can make the greatest impact.
We aim to create a safe and supportive environment at every shift. Anyone in need of support is welcome to join us and access our free laundry and shower facilities, or simply find a space for community connection.
We are best known for our laundry vans that pull up in parks and alongside partner organisations all across the country. Our vans are solar-powered and fitted with our innovative Waru Dryers, which reduce our environmental impact.
Our mobile van in Newcastle is named ‘Hunter’.
