Orange Sky Australia is committed to providing access to clean clothes and genuine, non-judgemental conversation for all Australians. In remote communities, access to laundry services can be limited and cost prohibitive.
Located 738km south of Darwin, Nitjpurru is a close-knit Aboriginal community of around 150 residents. Orange Sky’s Nitjpurru service works alongside the community to build impact through free laundry, local employment, and local partnerships.
Under our collaborative partnership model, Orange Sky’s Nitjpurru service is made possible thanks to our ongoing partnership with the Katherine West Health Board (KWHB). Following our successful joint operations in Kalkaringi and Daguragu, Bulla, and Yarralin, KWHB has been instrumental in helping us power four remote services across the Northern Territory.
Our Remote Vehicle 3.0 (RV3.0) brings essential laundry services to remote Australian communities. Designed for rugged conditions, it features three washers and Waru Dryers and uses advanced solar technology to cut electrical use by up to 80%, enhancing service reach effectively.
