Orange Sky’s Darwin service launched in July 2018, providing laundry, showers and conversation to people experiencing homelessness.
‘Betsy’ was warmly welcomed into the Darwin community and many new friends have been excited to use the shower and laundry facilities. The rates of homelessness in the Northern Territory are more than 12 times the national average, so we know that our service will play an important role in helping to positively connect people doing it tough. Like all of our services, we hope to have the biggest impact in Darwin through genuine and non-judgemental conversation that take place on our six orange chairs.

The six orange chairs in every Orange Sky van are the most important part of our service. They are used by our volunteers and friends to connect. Each chair represents a key cost specific to the location, and through the support of these chairs, we are able to continue helping our friends.
