Orange Sky Australia is committed to providing access to clean clothes, warm showers and genuine, non-judgemental conversation for all Australians. In remote communities, access to laundry services can be limited and cost prohibitive. To support this, Orange Sky works alongside remote communities to build impact through free laundry, local employment and local partnerships.

Our weekly impact in Galiwin'ku

Galiwin’ku is a traditional Aboriginal island community located 550 kilometres north-east from Darwin, Northern Territory.

A tropical island in East Arnhem Land, Galiwin’ku has a seasonal population of around 2,200 Yolngu people.

Galiwin’ku is home to Orange Sky’s ninth remote laundry service, established in 2022. An enormous thanks must go to our service partner, Galiwin’ku Women’s Space Inc who make the service possible, and to residents for trusting our team with their laundry and time.

We acknowledge and thank Galiwin’ku Traditional Custodians, the Yolngu people, for welcoming Orange Sky into their community.
