Orange Sky Australia is committed to providing access to clean clothes, warm showers and genuine, non-judgemental conversation for all Australians. In remote communities, access to laundry services can be limited and cost prohibitive. To support this, Orange Sky works alongside remote communities to build impact through free laundry, local employment and local partnerships.

Our weekly impact in Kalgoorlie

Orange Sky will continue our mission to support people in need with the launch of our eleventh remote Australian service in Kalgoorlie.

Kalgoorlie, sometimes referred to as Kalgoorlie-Boulder, is Australia’s largest outback city and is located in Wongatha country, 595 km east-northeast of Perth (Whadjuk land). Orange Sky pays respects to the people of Wongatha country, who are the Traditional Owners of the land that we feel honoured to wash and connect on.

Orange Sky is excited to bring a laundry van fitted with three washing machines and three dryers to the community. We are operating five shifts per week, providing the community with access to free hot water laundry facilities and the opportunity for a yarn on Orange Sky’s six orange chairs.

In partnership with the Bega Garnbirringu Health Service, Orange Sky will also provide employment opportunities for locals to become part of the team and operate the laundry van. Thank you to our incredible team in Kalgoorlie that keeps the wheels turning and conversations flowing around our van each day.
